Consortium
The Gulf Coast
Intercollegiate Consortium, G.C.I.C., is a partnership among the
music and visual art departments of the 16 community colleges in
the greater Houston area. The member colleges of the G.C.I.C.
host events throughout the academic year that feature nationally
and internationally known performing and visual artists. GCIC
also co-sponsors guest clinicians, portfolio reviewers, and
juried student competitions with its member institutions. These
opportunities enhance the academic experience for the students
and allow them to develop professional practice. In addition,
events are scheduled to feature the professors who work at the
